8 Week Mindfulness Course
“Life changing! I am more open to how things are and less in haste to make things different." A.M. Psychotherapist and counsellor trainer Univ. Leicester” This course explores how to pay attention in the present moment. This simple skill and approach helps us take back a sense of control and choice, allowing us to take more pleasure in the good things that often go unnoticed or unappreciated. Up to 10 participants meet together over eight weekly two hour sessions plus one Saturday. You will be introduced to a range of Mindfulness practices to help you to become familiar with the workings of your mind. You will notice old mental habits and learn how to release from them with compassion and forgiveness so you can see them as they really are – just thoughts; learn how to develop attention and not be caught up in distracting states of mind; and develop strategies to think, feel and respond in a different way. Mindfulness has also been proved to be effective with stress, anxiety, pain, low self-esteem and depression and is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence for preventing recurrance of depression. The course is designed to develop a Mindfulness self-practice to take into daily life and be a firm basis from which to further explore with continued study. It is suitable for those with or without established practices of Mindfulness. Please read this introductory leaflet for more information. 8 Week Yoga
and Mindfulness Course
“Some would have us believe that only with the accomplishment of the most challenging and complex Yoga postures is the mind and body ready for deeper awakening. I believe Yoga should not just exist on the mat as somewhere to retreat to recover from daily life. It must be something that integrates seamlessly with daily life, allowing our playful enquiry on the mat to nourish and teach us.” Hugh Poulton This new course explores the building blocks that create a Yoga practice that brings balance to both our body and mind. The course is designed to develop both a mindfulness and Yoga self-practice to take into daily life and a firm basis to further explore both disciplines with continued study. It is suitable for those with or without established practices of Yoga and/or mindfulness. The integration of Mindfulness into Yoga practice is a radical approach with transformative impact on the postures. By bringing you into awareness that your stiffest muscle is between your ears, it simply unlocks your practice, whether as a beginner or advanced practitioner, revealing further opportunity for growth. This blended teaching approach provides a fresh learning experience for releasing your body and mind in any situation or experience that you encounter on or off the mat.
